A new discipline, this year for the first time officially part of the World Cup program.
From a roughly four-meter-high start ramp, four boats start simultaneously into the whitewater channel. Even at the first meters, spectacular scenes can occur. In the wild water, the athletes must then paddle on duty gates and perform a mandatory eskimo roll at a marked place.
The two fastest athletes from each group will continue a round until the four best compete against each other in the final.
In this competition, very robust whitewater boats are used – and this spectacular race is only carried out in the kayak discipline (w/m).
To win, there is a money award in Markkleeberg, unique in the World Cup series. Many thanks to the Sparkasse Leipzig. These events can be watched live on Saturday and Sunday from 4.15 PM.
